| Cornwall Football Clubs
The Cornwall county football association in the UK was formed in 1889 and is now an organisation with a 400,000 turnover. There are about 400 clubs affiliated to the Cornwall FA and about 500 teams playing under its auspices making it one of the most popular sports in Cornwall just as it is in the whole of UK. The senior’s cup along with junior’s cup and Durning Lawrence Charity Cup are some of the tournaments organized here.

Bodmin Town F.C
Formed way back in 1889 ,probably one of the first few clubs playing the sport in the UK at the time, they were the champions of the 2005-06 season of the South Western League and runners up in the seniors cup as well.
Callington Town F.C
This club based in Callington, Cornwall was formed recently only in 1989 now boasts of 3 fully fledged adult male teams and they also have formed partnerships with other teams to form a association, having a total strength of nearly twenty one teams.
Falmouth Town A.F.C
One of the more successful teams in this part of the sports arena, it was formed in 1950 and has an impressive track record of four successive championships in the western league among others.
Goonhavern F.C
Based near Perranporth, they won the Cornwall Combination in 2004-05 after joining this association in 1996 being promoted from the Mining league.
Helston Athletic F.C
The club which initially played in south western league now plays in the Combination in which it has won the championship twice, once in 1987-88 and the next after a tenure of nearly 10 years in 2000-01.
Liskeard Athletic F.C
Formed way back in 1946, they have won the South western League twice before joining the
Western Football League in 1979. |
